Feeding directions
For growing horses and horses at maintenance, feed at the rate of 1-2% of body weight, depending on desired body condition. For example, for a 1,000 lb. horse at rest, feed 10-20 lbs of Sawyer Premium Alfalfa Cubes per head per day.
For broodmares and horses performing work, feed at the rate of 1.5-2.0% of body weight, depending on desired body condition. For example, for a 1,000 lb horse, feed 15-20 Ibs of Sawyer Premium Alfalfa Cubes per head per day.
It is recommended to offer cubes in a feed tub, preferably at ground level. Cubes may be softened by soaking in water for 30 minutes or more prior to feeding for Senior Horses or horses with dental issues.
Divide daily ration into two feedings. Provide a clean, fresh source of water at all times. Consult your supplier or nutritionist for further feeding directions.
